Cookies Anyone? {personal}

No denying I love my dogs! I got dog cookie mix in my secret santa stocking at work today, which means one of my coworkers knows I love my dogs too! I got home from work today and made them for my little girls. Katie is so smart, she knew I was making something for her, she sat beneath my feet patiently waiting. Poor girl didn't realize they had to bake for 40 minutes, lol.

I'm crazy, I know!

Happy Birthday Katie! {personal} | Surrey, BC Pet Photographer

It is my Katie's 3rd birthday today!
I LOVE my dogs. Yup, I have turned into one of those crazy dog people.
I met Katie when she was only 4 days old and picked her out of her litter because she was so adorable and I loved her white patch on her chest, which distinguished her from the rest of the litter. She has been a great dog and makes me smile every.single.day.
Katie is extremely smart, can do an assortment of tricks, understands a ton of English, loves to snuggle and can play fetch all day long.

Here she is at 4 weeks old (2006). Excuse my craptastic photography skills back in the day!

Some snaps from today:

Just one of Isa because I didn't want to leave her out!

Summer randoms {personal}

I am finally getting to editing some of my own pictures, here are a few more random shots from the past month......

My friend threw me a surprise bridal shower last week, it was absolutely wonderful (and yes I was surprised!). All of my closest friends and family were there all together in one room :)
Family came from out of town and every one's generosity was unreal. My friend's and family thought it would be a good idea to all give me money as gifts to help pay for my wedding photographer because they didn't think it was fair I should have to pay as I am often taking pictures for everyone else. I am still speechless and touched by how generous everyone was and will forever be grateful for all the wonderful friends and family I have. A girl cannot truly be luckier to be surrounded by such beautiful people :)
Here is a snapshot (not taken by me ;) ) of me at my shower. It was a Hawaiian themed shower as Jared and I are getting hitched in Maui. I was wearing coconut shells, a hula skirt, and was drinking out of a coconut cup :)

Here is my beautiful cake made by my friend. She is truly the cake goddess and her cakes not only look absolutely wonderful, but they taste good too! My favorite flower is the calla lily.

Here is a shot I took the other day, this little guy was hanging out on our patio. I don't have a macro lens (although it is next on my list of lens purchases), but managed to snap this with a set of close-up filters.

Isn't she just the cutest??!!
This is a 3 week old dachshund puppy, she is the half sister to my Katie (same fur mommy). I can hardly remember Katie when she was this small :(

What have I been up to? {personal}

It seems since I have started my photography business I don't post many personal pictures (or even take as many) on my blog anymore :(
I finally got around to editing a few of my personal pictures and thought I would share a few.
I just finished a glorious 3 weeks of vacation from my nursing job and had a wonderful time hanging out with friends and enjoying our beautiful city. The weather for the most part was awesome, I love it hot hot hot and even hotter. Sure sleeping in the heat isn't all that great, but I think it is a small price to pay. I love going to the beach and being outside as much as possible.

My friend and I did a great 5 hour hike to the top of Seymour Mountain in Vancouver. It was so beautiful! Here is a shot of some snow still hanging around on the Mountain during our hike.

This is the view from the top. The picture doesn't do it any justice at all because of the haze,but we had a 360 degree view of the entire city of Vancouver and beyond. I really do believe that Vancouver is the most beautiful city ever!

Another day I went for a great walk with another friend around Vancouver. We thought it might be a good idea to take my little dogs for a walk around Stanley Park's seawall, but it became quite evident early on that my 1 inch legged dogs would not be able to do it in the heat, so we walked a bit around the one end of the seawall and then all around English Bay and through False Creek back into downtown. We had an awesome lunch at a little cafe in False Creek. I thought it would be a good idea to give Shelly Isa to walk because she is the better walker of my two rugrats, but actually she was the lazier of the 2 and Shelly had to carry her a good portion of the way, lol. I guess this is why Isa is overweight! We went to a little section of the beach for dogs, Isa found a small patch of shade in Shelly's shadow and rested while Katie played in the water.

Last night we had a thunder and lightning storm that lasted forever! I grabbed my camera and patiently waited and snapped about 50 shots to get a handful that actually had lightning in them! It is hard, you have to be so quick with your finger!

I have more to edit yet, will try to get some posted later. Ciao.
