The story of "Snaily"

I went to the park with my little cousins yesterday, it was such a beautiful day! Towards the end of our trip to the park Austin found a snail, which he immediately named "Snaily". He was so excited! He was going to take him home and become his new family, put him in the backyard so he could visit him everyday.

Well on our walk Austin dropped him and we all heard it....crunch! Uh OH! Big brother stepped on him...we all exchanged glances, while Austin realized what had just happened...and yup...out came the alligator tears as he picked up his new pet and examined him.

I then explained to Austin that snails can live without their shells and if he let him go he could go and find a new shell to live in. Well he did not like that idea, he wanted to take him home, apparently he has plenty of empty shells for "Snaily" to live in there. After several minutes of discussion, Austin finally agreed to let him go in the park so he could go and find a new home and be with his family, even though Austin claimed he was his family....

Austin had me actually caring for "Snaily" and sad he lost his home.

I have a ton more shots from our adventure to the park, I will post them later :)
